Question: I’m using Exim mail server under CentOS Linux. How can I perform some SSH command on exim using a shell prompt?

Answer: Exim is a mail transfer agent (MTA) used on Unix-like operating systems. It aims to be a general and flexible mailer with extensive facilities for checking incoming e-mail.

N.B: Make sure you do not copy the # sign below along with the shell command. That is why I strictly instruct you to follow my video above first. Use the same system to perform any shell prompt via SSH.

Warning: You have to be extremely careful when using the below commands because as it helps you for good and it might also cause your server harm if you mistakenly use a command you don't know the uses.

To print a list of the messages in the queue, enter:
# exim -bp

To remove a message from the queue, enter:
# exim -Mrm {message-id}

To remove all messages from the queue, enter:
# exim -bp | awk '/^ *[0-9]+[mhd]/{print "exim -Mrm " $3}' | bash

Dallas Marlow, suggested following clean command:
# exim -bp | exiqgrep -i | xargs exim -Mrm

Task: Delete Mail Linux Exim Server:
To delete email for a particular user use shell pipes. By default the exim mail queue is located at /var/spool/exim/input directory. To delete email for a particular user called email@domain.com or vivek@nixcraft.co.in, enter:
# exiqgrep -ir email@domain.com | xargs exim -Mrm
# exiqgrep -ir vivek@nixcraft.co.in | xargs exim -Mrm

Get total number of messages in the exim mail queue:
# exim -bpc

This command tools are for those who are using OS as CentOS Linux especially if a Panel named WHM/cPanel is installed
